This year at CREtech New York, our CEO, Prasan Kale, moderated a conversation with industry leaders about why companies should stop getting “AI ready” and become AI active today. He spoke with Joshua Weiner, Director at Marc Realty, Zach Targos, Global Head of Host powered by VTS, Senior Director at CBRE, Warren Loy, SVP, Head of Asset Management at Denholtz, and Cem Mimaroğlu, Founding & Managing Partner at ComposeVC, to discuss how industry leaders are putting AI to work.
During this insightful conversation, panelists discussed where AI is today, where it’s headed, and how it’s already changing work. Their insights ranged from how AI will bring back the human element of work, eliminate tasks, enable companies to gain extra capacity for growth without hiring more people, and transform the workplace.
The conversation opened up, with Prasan addressing the common fear that AI will take everyone’s jobs. He shared that, if you think back to when the calculator was invented, engineers and mathematicians did not lose their jobs. In fact, the calculator made them even more productive. He sees AI the same way.
When discussing how AI has impacted the workforce, Warren Loy shared that, “It’s interesting that AI will allow us to be more human in our jobs.”
Cem Mimaroğlu shared that when evaluating AI solutions, the decision-making is impacted by the clarity and the outcome of AI. How raw data is structured and indexed to make it searchable, leading to improved decision-making, accuracy, and usability.
Zach Targos emphasized the importance of leveraging AI for data visualization. The ability to automate, get insights, and ask targeted questions.
Joshua Weiner shared that their operational data was previously stuck in disparate systems. “I’ve seen my teams work together in ways they never have before. Now that we have all this data, we can build a pipeline of orchestration across departments.”
